If yr parents are going to let you go to Chicago for a fest, hold out for Lolla. Most of these bands are coming/just came thru the northeast

I was thinking about Lollapalooza as an alternative possibility this year, but honestly, Lolla’s recent lineups have been kind of lame overall. I think that Lolla generally appeals to a wider audience and consistently features some artists that aren’t really appealing to me at all. Their lineup last year was pretty good, but most of the appeal for me came from the sub-headlining spots — Mountain Goats, Titus Andronicus, Explosions in the Sky — rather than the headliners and the other big name groups.

  2. samclarke333 said: their lineup last year was horrible and so boring. plus lolla is a zoo full of awful people. probably because the lineups have gotten so bad.
  3. criscodisco said: i’ve been to both lolla and pitchfork and i can honestly say that pitchfork is so much better, always. pitchfork always has great headliners and even greater “smaller bands,” and also an all-around better atmosphere.
