Some shots from our recent show with Kindred Queer and Waxahatchee at the People’s Art Collective in New Haven. Thanks Lane Nelson
My copy of the new Desaparecidos “Marikkkopa”/”Backsell” 7” arrived. The $12 price was a little steep, but it’s really pretty. Saddle Creek also addressed it to Lewis and his Blog on the back. Neat.
Listening To: Everyone Everywhere - Everyone Everywhere (2012)
The Pennsylvania punk group Everyone Everywhere have mastered the art of the underground hype train. In a marketing sense, they’ve done literally everything right to promote their new full length album, which was released earlier this month. In addition to releasing the LP on their own rather than going through a record label, they made the album available as a pay-what-you-want vinyl pre-order, which I think is a brilliant idea that may or may not shape the future of physical album sales. I got my vinyl copy in the mail recently, and I’m loving the presentation of it. Mine came on pretty sky-blue vinyl, and the package included a lyric sheet, a download code, and a CD copy of the album, which is always a nice touch. I completely love the name, the gorgeous cover art, and the beautiful packaging. Now let’s see if the music holds up.

Pick up Everyone Everywhere (which, confusingly, bears the same name as their 2010 full length) on bandcamp.
Here’s a collection of photos/video from the Joyce Manor/Algernon Cadwallader/The World Is…/Sirs show the other day at The Space. If you have more and would like them included, send a link over and it will be added!

In cased you missed any of this coverage of the recent Joyce Manor/Algernon Cadwallader/TWIABP/Sirs show at The Space, here’s a good recap of everything.
Mostly I’m just reblogging this because the two pictures of me here are hard as fuck. I guess I do need to start a hardcore band now.
Bright Eyes‘ Lifted Or The Story Is In The Soil, Keep Your Ear To The Ground turned 10 years old today. I’m celebrating the birthday with an honorary listening of my vinyl copy, which I bought last summer when Bright Eyes played the Williamsburg Waterfront on their last tour. ‘Celebration’ is not something that this album generally goes with, but I can’t help but smile at how far Oberst and co. have come since the release of this LP, and how incredibly ambitious Lifted was for a 22 year old and his friends to put together.
If you’re interesting in reading a retrospective piece about this album’s 10th birthday, check out Stereogum’s feature HERE. It’s worth a read for any fan of this record or Bright Eyes in general.
I crowdsurfed during Ty Segall’s “Girlfriend” on Sunday and Pitchfork photographed me doing it. Check out their full set of crowd shots from the festival HERE.
Anthony Fantano found me at A$AP Rocky yesterday. There are so many white dudes in this shot that at first I thought it was at Japandroids.
So we’re on a little break til Friday. We’re in different places. I got the camera and may post some pics from NYC if I get some good ones, like the mural. Or maybe I’ll post some from earlier that didn’t get put up.
Oh, the show listing on tumbl isn’t updated. If you have questions check out ramshackleglory.com or our facebook if you have it. We try to respond to stuff, but often times there’s a lot of questions that are easily answered with a small amount of looking. And we also sometimes have a lot of work or personal stuff to do since we get minimal access to computer time on the road. Thanks so much everyone for everything!!!
Mark played with us in Buffalo too. He’s awesome. Thanks to the DIY Bandits for all they do, especially for Ramshackle Glory, like setting up the New Haven show. Check them out and support! That was definitely the most sweaty show so far. Seriously.
Check out this sweet photo of me all sweaty as fuck at Ramshackle

Drinking coffee and listening to my copy of Belle and Sebastian’s BBC Sessions, which I received in the mail yesterday from my wonderful cousin and his wife.
I’m also finally categorizing my 2012 vinyl & CD purchases on my Rateyourmusic account, which I never got the chance to start due to the trauma I went through at the beginning of the year. It won’t be finished for a while though… I have a lot of records to get through. I should really start updating that site more in general.
Listening To: The Beach Boys - The Smile Sessions (2011)
2/3 final exams finished. It’s sweltering hot. Cooling off with this record. The vinyl box set of The Smile Sessions was one of the best gifts I received last year. Before I got the box set last Christmas, I reviewed the compilation HERE, if you’re interested in reading my thoughts about it.
